Workshop on the Beach in the Florida Keys!

Come join us on the beach for a teacher workshop in the Florida Keys.
During The Institute for Biomedical Philosophy's workshop in the Florida Keys educators explore national standards-based biology and ecology concepts using hands-on marine biology models (snorkeling, dolphin swim and beach programs). Programs available for elementary, middle and high school teachers, pre-service teachers, informal educators, administrators, and science education faculty.

While this program is primarily geared toward science teachers, the program is also useful for ESL and special needs students since the program involves modification of materials to meet the needs of all students. The material will include extensions for statistics, computer science, and mathematics as well as for information technology, language arts, fine arts, library science, reading, and psychology. Additionally, because the material is taught with a variety of learning styles, the program is easily adapted for a variety of programs including interdisciplinary studies. Your specific participation can be tailored towards the needs of your classroom.

Min. enrollment 16 & Max. enrollment 25 for teacher workshops. Cost -- $1575 includes all field experiences, equipment, materials, double occupancy lodging, and meals. A $200 deposit is due on application deadline. For further information contact Melissa Demetrikopoulos, Ph.D. at mdemetr@BioPhi.org.
